Schooling and the accessibility of education for all represents the emancipation of humanity from poverty, subjugation, and societal injustice. Yet have you wondered why many children return from school pale-faced and exhausted, saying that they hate school? Have you questioned whether reading really needs to be learned at age 5 or whether school field trips really are too dangerous? Perhaps you are concerned about the overuse of computers or the lack of nature experiences that today’s children seem to be afflicted with? Or maybe you are just curious as to what we – and others – experience in our minds when we read a book or watch television?
Grappling with such questions is the purpose of my research. Taking the fruits of this research and sharing these with others is the goal of this website. Helping to change education for the better is my hope.
